There is an old parable...let me retell it for you, friends:

There was once a great, great forest. So big...the trees were so tall and so fragrant it reveled heaven itself. There were such an amount of creatures: OH SO! Every species and count imaginable- so many, and living in great harmony.

Once, there was a flood. A horrible thing! Such a long rain after quite a drought that the animals thought it precious: but OH NO! It was their demise!

The scrambled. They thought: HOW can we get out of this? The decided that it was best to go to high ground across the river. To the mountains. There, the could live in peace.

The animals cross. All save but for the slow turtle, and the abraded snake. They sat and stared at each other.

Turtle: How do you intend to cross when you slither on the ground. Surely you will drown!

Snake: I will do my best, dear one, I will do my best.

Turtle: What I propose to you is this: since we both do not fear death- yet...we do not want it- I will carry you along on my back until we get to the other side! There..we both shall live!

Snake: I agree with your sentiment..and thank you. I am but a poor snake trying to live my life as it may.

The turtle took the snake to the other side. Once safe there..the snake strook with all its fangs...sinking them deep into the soft flesh of the unguarded turtle.

Turtle: WHAT! I saved you! Why do you now seek to kill me!

Snake: But you KNEW I was a snake..did you not? Why did you ferry me over?

Truth be told. Lesson learned. A snake is still..and will remain its true nature: a snake. Beware.

With love, my friends-
~The scorpion
